Spring Break, Birthdays, Senior Pictures, Conference, Eclipse, Soccer

Here’s what we have been up to the last two weeks.  Noah had a birthday.  He wanted to go out to lunch with just Aaron and me so that’s what we did.  He chose Cafe Rio and it was good.  His birthday always seems to fall on Spring Break so we didn’t have to worry about missing any school.

After lunch Noah wanted to go miniature golfing with the family.  Sarah and Matthew had to work unfortunately, but Aaron, me, Daniel, Josh and Noah were all able to play.  It is glow in the dark mini golf which was fun.

We had a few people try and pull off a few mulligans when they would hit the ball off the course/hole we were on.  That lead to some ‘discussions' at the end as to who really won the game....I still say it was me, but Daniel vehemently disagrees and says it was him--haha!  Overall it was a fun afternoon.

Noah got a new bike for his birthday which he was pretty excited about.  He has ridden to school everyday since he got it.

General Conference was this past weekend.  Sunday morning Aaron made his traditional big breakfast for everyone.  This time we had build your own breakfast sandwiches which were pretty good.

 

Then we all sat and watched Conference.  I would be lying if I didn’t say it was through closed eyes at times...haha!

Sophie’s favorite thing in the world is to snuggle with her people.  She loved that she had so many choices of people to snuggle with.

I must say we do have a Derpy dog...haha!  When she falls asleep her eyes roll in the back of her head and she gets some 'crazy eyes’ and looks ridiculous.

Noah wanted his birthday dinner for Sunday dinner so we could be together as a family and that Grandma and Grandpa T could come eat with us.  Noah chose DIY Crunch Wraps for dinner.  Then he chose an ice cream cake for his birthday cake.  

He was able to blowout all of the candles on his cake:

We were glad G&G T could join us for dinner.

Monday was the solar eclipse.  We didn’t make it to an area with totality, but we did have a decent amount of the sun hidden.  I met up with Aaron at lunch so we could look at it with our nerdy eclipse glasses.

I put the nerdy glasses over my camera on my phone and did manage to get this shot:

Daniel got to see it while at high school.  I don’t know if Sarah and Noah got a chance to see it, though.

Josh got to see it on Weber State campus through one of the telescopes.  Here’s the picture he took of it:

It was pretty cool, but I find it a bit eerie.  Just to have everything go a bit darker and stay that way for a bit is just...different.

Later that day Noah had a soccer match we were able to and watch.

Noah also got to be goalie for the second half of the game:

Noah got to make a small scale wind turbine that creates electricity in school in one of his classes.  I thought that was pretty cool!

Late Monday evening everyone was finally home to help celebrate Josh’s birthday except Matthew--he and G&G T helped celebrate it the day earlier, though.  Josh chose to have tri tip for his dinner.  Then he chose a Better than Anything cake for his birthday cake.

He wasn’t able to blow all his candles out at once so we will see if his wish comes true:

He turned the BIG 21!  Of course we don’t drink, but to be funny he bought some cream soda and poured himself a glass to make it look a bit more adult-ish, but it was only cream soda:

He has been staying busy between school, work and other fun things.  Here’s a few people from Institute:

This is one of Josh’s favorite homework spots.  I wonder how effective of a spot it is for homework, though--haha!

Every Conference there is a mission reunion.  Josh was excited to be able to go and see some of his old mission companions and friends.

Sunday there was a Young Single Adult devotional.  Josh talked Sarah in to going with him.  They both said it was pretty good.

Matthew was excited this week to find out that he got the weeks he chose for Camp K this summer.  He is really looking forward going back there this summer for a few weeks.

Daniel and some of his friends had a ‘Friends’ Easter egg hunt.  It looks like it was pretty successful:

Over Spring Break Daniel got his Senior Pictures taken.  We got them back and they turned out great.  Here is what they look like.  For some reason some of the edges got cut off on some of the these pictures when I downloaded them to the blog.  In the original pictures that didn’t happen:

Now we need to make his graduation announcements and order his cap and gown.  I can’t believe he is graduating next month!!
